Gospel Devotional

Review: Come and See

As the world grows darker, the Gospel only shines brighter.

This won’t be my typical kind of review. First of all, this isn’t a work of fiction. Come and See is a 90-day Gospel centered devotional book that is meant to be read along side the Bible rather than instead of it. It is available for purchase on Amazon*, and it is also included with Kindle Unlimited memberships.

As you all know, my one goal for this year is to grow closer to God every day. To this end, when Tina asked for people to join the launch team for her Gospel centered devotional, I was excited to get on board. I’ve been following Tina on her Instagram for a few months now, and I’ve also gotten to connect with her somewhat on Facebook. Let me tell you, she’s the real deal. Her love for Jesus shines through on everything she says.

I was fortunate enough to get to purchase this devotional before the official launch, so I have been working my way through it for several weeks now. I love the way it is set up. Each day starting on day 2, you read one chapter from the Gospels starting with Matthew. Once you’re finished reading it, you’ll get one verse from the reading in the devotional. Tina writes about that verse and gives you points to meditate on and pray through.

I appreciate this devotional so much, because Tina’s perspective on the Gospels is taken from a Christ centered approach.

Many devotionals I’ve read have had a “what’s in it for me” approach to reading the Bible. This devotional goes chapter by chapter as you work through the life of Jesus. It focuses on growing your relationship with Jesus by reflecting on what He has done for us.

I love the Gospel books.

I have probably read each of them hundreds of times. Tina’s thoughts and fresh perspective have been uplifting and insightful. Overall, I highly recommend this devotional to anyone who wants to do a focused study of the Gospel books of the Bible in order to grow closer to Jesus.
